About Rocky DiRico's School of Kenpo Karate

For 38 years, Rocky DiRico's School of Kenpo Karate has been teaching kids, teens, and adults the principles of Kenpo Karate. Under the guidance and instruction of Professor DiRico, a 10th-degree black belt and multiple world champion, the school is committed to teaching its five core rules to its students. Professor DiRico also teaches weapon and sparring techniques, which are tailored to the age of the students. The martial art of Kenpo Karate is a traditional style dating back to ancient China and Japan. It is grounded in the movements of the five Chinese Kung Fu animals and five classical Kung Fu elements. At Rocky DiRico's School of Kenpo Karate, students have the opportunity to learn the techniques of this classic martial art, and to develop their skills with the help of a world champion instructor.

Self-Defense
The primary focus is on how to avoid a fight, whether by avoiding the situation, using words to diffuse the situation, or, if necessary, dropping into a fighting stance to scare an opponent. All of these are taught as preferable to fighting. However, should a student need to defend themselves, they will be more prepared.

Physical Fitness & Coordination
Martial arts is a whole body activity that increases conditioning as well as coordination in a fun and supportive environment

Discipline & Goal Setting
Martial arts is not easy. Students will learn to work hard and focus, not just in class, but at home as well. They will take on goals to make it to the next belt and work to achieve them.
