At The Villari’s in Marlborough, the atmosphere is one of family and support. Owner and chief instructor, Sensei Michele Herard, is passionate about providing a safe and welcoming space for her students to learn respect, self-discipline and self-control. As well as mastering the physical techniques of karate, students come away from the dojo with greater character strength and muscle strength. The dojo also nurtures a positive can-do attitude in its students, giving them the confidence to apply what they have learned to their daily lives. Sensei Michele and her team strive to create an environment that is not just about learning martial arts, but about forming lifelong friendships. The Villari’s in Marlborough is a family studio, and its students benefit from the combination of self-defense and character development.

haolin Kempo Karate is a complete martial arts system designed to develop mind, body and spirit. It’s perfect to help any adult relieve stress, improve flexibility and increase his or her overall feeling of well-being. Villari’s adult classes are not like traditional martial arts classes often taught at other schools. Our adult classes are designed to be fun, educational and to help you feel great. At Villari’s, adults are encourage to ask questions during class and our instructors are trained to create an atmosphere that helps students reduce stress and lets them leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Instilling strong character at a young age leads to successful, well-adjusted adults. The Colors of Character Program is founded on what we refer to as the “Three School Rules”, (1)Self Discipline, (2)Respect and (3)Self Control. Villaris uses these rules to develop and reinforce the strength of character children need to resist peer pressure, gangs, the temptations of drugs and alcohol, and all the other forces that make growing up today such a tremendous challenge.
