Do you ever feel like you don't belong? At Lubavitch Chabad of Skokie, all the Jewish residents of the town have a place to fit in. People who come to Chabad are just like you - they shop where you shop, dine where you dine, and come from a variety of different Jewish backgrounds. The synagogue provides educational and recreational programs for people of all ages, from Hebrew school to Camp Gan Israel, Jewish Learning Institute, Women's Classes, CTeen, and the Community Shul. Come and join us for a spectacular Jewish experience. We are always striving to improve and upgrade our programs and activities to create a welcoming environment for everyone. And no matter what, we are here to help every Jewish person in any way we can.

This is the classic Junior Gan Israel experience for children ages 2 ½ to 6 years old. This complete summer package includes crafts and games, professional sports instruction, and special events. Field trips are carefully selected for age and safety. Private swim time is held at Oakton Water Playground. Each week we highlight a different Jewish theme, which is conveyed through the songs, crafts, and other activities of the week. Children who are ages 2½ to 3 may be enrolled in either Bright Beginnings or Expanding Horizons.

Expanding Horizons

This option is JGI designed specifically for your toddler, ages 2-3. From water and outdoor play to art and music, these campers are introduced to a broad range of enriching activities in a setting created just for them. In Bright Beginnings, the staff-child ratio is lower, and warm & loving early childhood professionals focus on developing your child's motor skills and social interactions at an appropriate level.

Bright Beginnings

Our optional afternoon enrichment program enhances the fun your children have had all morning and extends until 3:30 p.m. Afternoon Enrichment campers enjoy an array of enrichment activities, music appreciation with Morah Ruth, and snacks. Expanding Horizon campers also enjoy gymnastics with Coach Ilyce.

Lubavitch Chabad of Skokie

The Skokie Chabad is a very friendly place. I had the impression that I had come home, where my family belonged. There are activities and programs available for everyone. Regardless of whether you have a unique need, you were accepted. You received equal treatment. I wish we could have stayed where we were. We relocated in 2009. My then-five-year-old child, who was three at the time, still recalls visiting the Chabad residence. That reveals a lot about each person present.
