Our mission is to bring the community closer together by providing meaningful and safe recreational experiences. Through the acquisition, development, management, and preservation of parks and open spaces, we strive to make the community a more enjoyable place to live. We understand the importance of green spaces and parks in our community and are dedicated to their preservation and enhancement. We are committed to providing our residents with a wide variety of recreational activities to choose from. From playgrounds and sports fields to trails and nature centers, we strive to make recreation an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all ages. Preschool (3 yrs)
The River Forest Community Center offers half-day and full-day preschool options for children who are three years or four years of age. Our play-based curriculum focuses on weekly themes while incorporating basic language, mathematics, motor and social skills. All children must be 3 years old and toilet trained to start.

Full-Day Camps
Summer Fun! Children ages 3 through incoming 1st grade will enjoy art projects, sports & games, music and motion, outdoor water play and field trips. A lunch and two snacks will be provided each day. All children must be fully toilet trained in order to attend camp. The camp fees include one t-shirt per session, daily lunches, snacks, and supplies.

Kinder City & After School Adventurers
Before and after school care is available for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Children will be actively involved in art, science, cooking, and large motor activities. Full-Day Rates to determine which schedule is best for your family. Transportation is available to and from all River Forest schools for $6.00 per day. Our full time program is very flexible —parents may choose their own schedule (i.e.: A child may attend Monday, Tuesday, and Friday for 6 or more hours per day.) However, parents must commit to their chosen schedule throughout the school year. A deposit of your child’s full weekly commitment is due upon registration and will be used towards your child’s last week of school.
