The Board of Commissioners sets policies and provides guidance on the operations of the parks and recreation programs.
The Salt Creek Rural Park District was formed in 1956 and is governed by the Park District Code of Statutory Laws in the State of Illinois. Seven non-paid park commissioners are elected by the legal voters of the park district, and serve 6 year terms. The Board of Commissioners includes a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, and hires a Director of Parks and Recreation to manage day-to-day operations. Professional administrative staff are also hired to oversee the operation of parks, recreation facilities and programs, while the Board of Commissioners provides the guidance and sets policies for their operation.

HIP HOP TOTS
Young dancers will learn how to express their creativity through dance while learning basic jazz & hip hop steps to upbeat fun music, with emphasis on rhythm and coordination. Required shoes: Jazz shoes, ballet shoes or clean gym shoes.

PRESCHOOL (3 & 4 YEAR OLDS)
This program is designed for a child’s first experience in a structured school setting. Our program offers an opportunity for the child to develop social skills, cooperative play, and fine motor skills, sharing and listening to directions. Subject to change based upon current guidelines & restrictions.

PRESCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES
Each two-week session will focus on a specific theme. Different learning tools and techniques will propel students’ curiosity and creativity. Participants must be currently enrolled in the Pre-Kindergarten program.
