About Pro Musica Youth Chorus in Oak Park, IL
At Pro Musica Youth Chorus, we believe that music has the power to foster creative and positive growth in young minds. Our choral program, led by professional musicians, provides children from the 2nd to 12th grade with the opportunity to develop their musical skills and explore their creative potential. Each ensemble is conducted by a highly trained conductor and accompanied by a professional accompanist. Our singers have the chance to learn and grow through weekly after-school rehearsals, varied performance opportunities, and youth empowerment programming. We are proud to provide an environment that encourages children to explore their musical talents and develop life-long skills. BeAKid
Melody Makers – Kindergarten
This group is for our youngest choristers. Sessions run for 30 minutes, and will incorporate movement and music to keep our littles engaged, growing in confidence and musicality, and sharing their voices!
BeAKid
Primo Coro
Primo Coro is our entry-level group for 2nd - 4th grade singers and is designed to introduce them to the choral experience and help them discover the unique abilities of their voice. Primo Coro singers should be able to independently read full sentences. Through 45-minute weekly rehearsals and regular performances, members of Primo Coro learn about healthy vocal production, sing in unison and two parts, practice and perform basic rhythmic notation, sing in solfege, and discover new musical terms and symbols. Primo Coro singers develop poise and confidence while building a sense of responsibility for themselves within an ensemble.

Harmonia
Harmonia is an advanced ensemble for singers eighth grade through senior year of high school who possess a more mature tone and excellent intonation, show music reading and fundamental sight-singing skills, and have at least a beginning knowledge of music theory. Harmonia singers can maintain focus in a weekly 100-minute rehearsal, have developed performance poise, and are able to sing independently in three and four parts. They will have a chance to participate in several performances over the course of the 2022-2023 season and are expected to be independent learners.
