Early Intervention

Each child deserves the chance to develop to their full potential — we believe you can never start too soon. Oak-Leyden’s Early Intervention services connect children with developmental disabilities, and their families, to a network of caring therapists. These therapists work to build both educational and social skills. A child’s success in the program can bear fruit in multiple ways. It can look like a child with a developmental disability joining his or her sibling on the playground for the first time. Or success can look like a child with a developmental disability entering kindergarten on time with his or her peers.

Drop-in Days

Children of all abilities are welcome! Participants build social skills in a comfortable environment with kid-friendly activities, including holiday celebrations, can-do craft projects, library visits, and guest readers. The Drop-in Days program teaches lessons about diversity and acceptance in a natural way — by simply letting children have fun together.

Evaluations & Screenings

Oak-Leyden is often involved with the children we serve from the initial evaluations and screening process onward. General practitioners and agencies refer children, ages 0 to 3, who may have developmental disabilities to us. Our licensed, certified therapists conduct evaluations of the children in a comfortable manner, make a diagnosis, and recommend a unique development plan.
