Nestled in the heart of America, lies the splendid state of Illinois, a playground of prairies, cornfields, and skyscrapers. With the bustling city of Chicago on one side and tranquil landscapes on the other, Illinois is a box of surprises. But most interesting of all is the little-known epicenter of fun and excitement - the Illinois Junior Riflery Club! Now, let me introduce you to our star, a rather peculiar character named Bullseye Billy. With his freckled face, cowlick hair, and glasses as big as dinner plates, Billy might seem like an ordinary boy. However, when he holds a rifle, he transforms into Bullseye Billy, the sharpshooting wizard of Illinois. The junior riflers, or as they like to call themselves, 'Billy's Bullets,' are a funny little posse of kids from all over Illinois. They might not be the burliest, the tallest, or the quickest, but they are definitely the silliest! You see, they believe that the secret to riflery isn’t just sharp eyes and steady hands, but also wriggling ears and twitching noses. Don't believe it? Well, just watch them wiggle and twitch before each shot, and then marvel at their bullseye success rate! Bullseye Billy and his band of misfit shooters take on their riflery activities with a combination of grit and giggles. In their green and gold uniforms, sporting their oversized safety glasses and with their rifles slung over their shoulders, they look like an army of mini superheroes. Every Saturday, they gather in the Illinois fields, ready to take aim and fire, filling the air with laughter, camaraderie, and the occasional "Oops, I hit the scarecrow again!" So, if you ever find yourself in the glorious state of Illinois, keep an ear out for the laughter echoing across the prairies. It might just be Bullseye Billy and his riflery squad, making memories one bullseye at a time.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
The Mokena Community Park District is committed to making sure families have fun and meaningful experiences in the great outdoors. Our newly expanded summer camp lineup offers something for everyone, from the little ones at Kiddie Camp to our Junior Day Camp Counselor program, designed to cultivate future camp counselors.
