He's the state's unofficial music mascot, moving from town to town, inspiring kids to take up musical activities. He loves nothing more than the sound of kids making music! The kids in Illinois are spectacular! They're not just blowing hot air into their instruments; they're breathing life into them! They can make a violin sing the sweetest melodies, a drum beat the happiest rhythm, and a piano dance to the most cheery tunes. Every day, from Rockford to Carbondale, the kids gather in school bands, garage rock groups, and even atop the tallest of haystacks, to make the most magical, musical sounds! They strum, they beat, they pick, they blow – creating a symphony of joy that echos across the state. And Jazzy Joe? He's there, too, striding through the cornfields, shimmying through the cities, with the proud, booming laugh for every brave child who picks up an instrument and plays their heart out. Dear Families, Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people. Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment. At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new. Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special. When they are ready, kids can move to the Rock 101 program, which is designed for students ages 8 to 13, regardless of their prior experience. This program focuses on quickly building proficiency with chosen instruments, with the ultimate goal of performing on stage with peers in the Performance Program. At School of Rock Mokena, we believe that music can bring out the best in our young musicians. Our programs provide a safe and encouraging environment for kids to learn and hone their musical skills. Curtain Call Community Theatre (CCCT) is the result of a merger of Fine Arts Association of Frankfort, Kentucky and the Capital Arts Theatre of Frankfort. CCCT is proud to provide an opportunity for community members to participate in the performing arts. Their mission is to foster the development of local performing arts, provide production and education, and create a deeper involvement of the community. The motto of CCCT is “Downtown Quality at Community Theatre Prices”. This mission statement reflects the commitment of the organization to provide quality theatrical productions to the community while keeping the cost of tickets affordable. All productions are staffed by local artists, and the organization is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for audiences of all ages.
For over 28 years, Lincoln-Way families have been able to rely on our outstanding Music and Theatre program. Our highly qualified instructors offer private lessons in guitar, piano, voice, ukulele, and acting, as well as classes for all levels of students. We also host several large-scale Musical Theatre Productions each year and have a youth Rock Band Program that has performed throughout the Chicagoland area. At Lincoln-Way, we are dedicated to providing our students with an engaging education in Music and Theatre. Our experienced staff provides private lessons in a variety of instruments, as well as acting classes and productions. We are also proud to offer our youth Rock Band Program, which has seen great success throughout the Chicagoland area.

Our newly expanded summer camp lineup offers something for everyone, from the little ones at Kiddie Camp to our Junior Day Camp Counselor program, designed to cultivate future camp counselors. And our Adventure Camp includes a daily field trip and before and after camp activities. We also have a host of activities for adults, including a Wiffleball league, outdoor Yoga classes, and trips to nearby attractions like Lake Geneva and Atlantic City. To top it off, we've added two outdoor movies on Fridays, and moved our family movies and summer concerts to Tuesday evenings. At the Mokena Community Park District, we believe in the power of recreation to enhance lives. We strive to provide exceptional parks, facilities, programs, events, and services for all to explore and enjoy. Our summer lineup is sure to provide plenty of fun and meaningful experiences for the whole family.
