At the heart of it, theatre is a beautiful art form that has the ability to bring us together in a way that nothing else can. It is a powerful tool of communication, that can transport us to a different time and place, and can even teach us lessons about life. As the great Augustin Daly once wrote, “Theatre is the science of human beings in action, the art of representing humanity in its varied emotions and phases.” Throughout my life, I have been inspired by the messages of Mr. Daly, and continue to be amazed by the power of theatre to bring people together. From the very young to the very old, theatre has a way of uniting us all through laughter, tears, music, and stories. It is an amazing way to learn about the past, present, and future, and to develop a sense of self-confidence and a true appreciation of the value of each individual.
