Music Studio

At the Elgin Youth Choir, we believe that music has the power to touch the human spirit and bring out the best in our children. Our primary purpose is to bring out the very best in each of our performers by providing exceptional music education and vocal training in a safe and nurturing environment. We strive to be more than a choir – we are here to help our children learn more about themselves, their communities, and the world around them. 

At the Elgin Youth Choir, we are dedicated to teaching life through song. We provide a positive and supportive community with a focus on individual and ensemble discipline, teamwork, collaboration, self-expression, and self-confidence. Our goal is to help our singers develop an ever-growing understanding of themselves and the impact they can have on their ensemble, school, community, and family.

Music

Vocal/singing

The Elgin Youth Choir is offered to students in grades 6-12.  This ensemble focuses on higher-level musicianship and professionalism in rehearsal and performance. Our Youth Choir members will work on further developing vocal technique, aural skills, sight-reading skills, and music literacy, and focusing on expression through performance.  

YOUTH CHOIR

The Children's Chorus is designed for our youngest singers in grades 2-5.  This ensemble focuses on teaching the foundations of singing and aural skills, the basics of reading music, and how to properly sing as both a soloist and part of an ensemble. Our Children's Chorus members are automatically enrolled into the Youth Choir at the start of 6th grade.

Any child who enjoys singing should join this fantastic organization. For more than a year, we have been a part of them. It has encouraged my children to be who they are and taught them time management, fulfilling their obligations, and respect for themselves and each other, in addition to providing them with music instruction that is beyond that of any schooling.
