Mess G01/23/20235Wonderful experience at the conservatory. It provided a welcome getaway from the city. It's fantastic to go about and take in each room's various plants and natural surroundings. There is no fee; a suggested gift is all that is required to enter each room. Seeing all the different spices and "food" plants, like spinach, vanilla, black pepper, papaya, wild oranges, and others, was incredibly interesting to me. Seeing the sources of the meals we consume is pretty cool. Moreover, there was a tiny coffee shop nearby when I went, so I had an oat milk lavender latte. It was delicious and enjoyable to sip while I looked around the room. See this amazing location in Chicago.
Sandy O11/14/20225Well done! With this, who needs the botanical garden. Beautiful! It was great! The location smelled good, plus it's free! All the flowers and trees were so young and bright. Free of charge, all that sweetness and beauty!
Minda P10/18/20225I just visited this place a week ago, and I'm still in awe of how amazing the conservatory is! There are so many different flora to see, and it is incredibly enormous. Even as I was leaving, I felt as though I had discovered some new flora! Since I missed the fern room after I left, I would strongly advise utilizing a map to make sure you don't miss any of the rooms. I'll return to Chicago if I ever have the chance to do so!
Sheena B12/18/20225What a pleasure it is to go. It is a modestly sized conservatory. Each area is kept up properly, and the plants are definitely carefully cared after. As it should be, the Fern and Palm rooms were humid and tropical. After that, there was a break in the desert room. I adore the fact that there is still a trace of the magnificent Chihuly exhibit from 20 years ago. Also, the design, build, maintenance, and improvements have all integrated seamlessly. Great off-the-beaten-path destination.
Sam S10/16/20225But, admissions are online and cost nothing. Absolutely no complaints, pleasant personnel, wonderful business, and perfect and gorgeous plants everywhere! There is no better location for a free retreat than Garfield Park Conservatory! You may say hello to the koi fish and enjoy a coffee or snack here on Thursdays through Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm. I love being here! Top 5 finest spots in Chicago, wonderful tiny coffee shop:)
