About Camp Tanager

Since 1926, Camp Tanager has been providing children with the opportunity to have a summer camp experience, regardless of financial circumstances. Under the administration of Tanager Place, and with the guidance of the Camp Director, Camp Tanager offers a variety of Day, Overnight and Specialized Camp Programs for youth ages 6+. At Camp Tanager, children can look forward to a week filled with enriching educational programming, the chance to make new friends, and plenty of exciting outdoor activities that will keep them engaged and healthy. Parents can trust that their child will have a safe and meaningful experience at Camp Tanager.

Day Camp
Day Campers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of program opportunities such as swimming, archery, nature appreciation, hiking, arts and crafts, songs, skits, special theme related activities and more! Best of all, activities are designed toward the interest and skill levels appropriate for each age group, and all activities promote our five character development principles of teamwork, friendship, integrity, independence, and leadership.

Overnight Camps
Camp Tanager provides several overnight camp programs including our free campership program, summer sleep-away camp, and special medical camp programs for kids with Diabetes and Hemophilia.

Diabetes Camp
Diabetes Camp gives children with Type 1 diabetes the chance to meet other kids facing the same daily challenges of living with diabetes. Our 24-hour staff of physicians, nurses and counselors are closely involved with the day to day activities to ensure that all medical needs are being met. This dedicated team enables each child the chance to gain increased self-confidence, build self esteem and to develop important self-management skills. Our first priority is the physical and medical safety of our campers while they enjoy a traditional summer camp experience.
