The Board of Directors of the Georgia Lions Camp have a clear mission: to give a unique recreational experience to the visually impaired of Georgia and the surrounding states. This mission was entrusted to them by the State of Georgia in 1975, when they were granted use of the property in Waycross.
The Board of Directors have taken this mission seriously and use the property for the benefit of the visually impaired community. At other times of the year, the Georgia Lions Camp's properties are used in a way that directly or indirectly serves the visually impaired and helps to support the primary mission of recreational opportunities.
The Board of Directors of the Georgia Lions Camp work hard to ensure that the property entrusted to them is used to its fullest potential. Their mission is to provide a unique recreational experience to the visually impaired of Georgia and the surrounding states, which they do by using the property for other purposes that support their primary mission.
Camp activities include arts & crafts, camping nature activities, fishing, performing arts, music, horseback riding, high ropes and low ropes courses, swimming, sports and outdoor games.
