Welcome to the Manasota Chess Center, located in the Crossings at Siesta Key mall in Sarasota! Our center is the only active US Chess Federation affiliate in the Sarasota metro area and one of only fifteen US Chess Federation Gold level affiliates nationwide. Since June, 2021, we have been providing the local chess community with a diverse selection of chess programs and services, including in-person casual chess games, competitive monthly USCF-rated tournaments, weekly chess ladder, chess study groups, private and group lessons, and scholastic coaching options. Our unique dedicated location and our experienced USCF certified coaches, including FIDE Grandmasters, have allowed us to serve the Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties chess community with a safe and permanent building. With more than 100 members, the Manasota Chess Center continues to grow and welcomes new players to join us.

Sarasota Youth Sailing was founded in the late 1970s by Kathy Waggener, and began with seven students in the first class. In 1980, the organization was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation. Sarasota Youth Sailing provides a unique opportunity for children to explore the world of sailing. The original Clearwater Prams provide an exciting experience for children to explore the waters of Sarasota Bay. With singlehanded Laser Sailing, children can explore the waters independently. Sarasota Youth Sailing is a great way for children to gain confidence and develop skills that will last a lifetime. With the guidance of Kathy Waggener, and the support from the organization’s 501 (c) (3) status, children can be sure that they will be in good hands.

Visitors to KMC Florida are inspired by the beauty of the modern Buddhist Temple and the tranquility it exudes. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, our Founder, designed this unique structure as part of the International Temples Project and it was opened in 2011. A representation of the celestial palace of Heruka, the Buddha of Compassion, the temple is also a symbol of the stages of the spiritual path to enlightenment. It was a momentous occasion for differently-abled children and adults in Sarasota and Manatee counties who have been yearning for the chance to play baseball. The Miracle League of Manasota, a 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to providing this opportunity for those in our community. The day was made extra special as our first-class, synthetically-surfaced baseball field was opened at Longwood Park just off University Blvd. Everyone in attendance was filled with excitement and joy at the thought of playing America's favorite pastime. The Miracle League of Manasota provides an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone can have fun playing baseball, regardless of their ability. The league is open to children and adults of all ages and abilities, and everyone is welcome. The field at Longwood Park is custom-built for the league, with a synthetic turf that is safe and comfortable for our athletes. The Miracle League of Manasota is a unique and special place, where the thrill of playing America's favorite pastime is available to all. The Miracle League of Manasota is an incredible organization that is dedicated to giving children and adults of all abilities the chance to experience the joys of baseball. The league has created a field specifically for their athletes that is safe and enjoyable, and the synthetic turf helps to ensure that everyone can play safely and comfortably. On March 17, 2012, the Miracle League of Manasota opened the first game on their field and began a journey that has brought so much joy to the Sarasota and Manatee counties. For over 45 years, Florida Studio Theatre (FST) has been a leader in the American theatre scene.
