WRITERS WORKSHOPS
Week one of each month will focus on character formation, from their birth in your imagination to their conflicts and how those shape personality and growth, essential to the development of plot. For example, one week the class may discuss dialogue while another week participants will learn about a character’s backstory and how to incorporate it into a story.
Week two of each month will center on plot. Every page turning story must contain a plot. The plot begins on page one and continues until the final word in your story or novel. What is plot? It’s the problem or situation that your character/s must overcome through roadblocks and challenges to climax and resolution. It must be resolved in some way by the end. Each month, the class will look at different methods for building plot, including the Hero’s Journey, formula writing, and more.
