Special Event Youth Camps
WCM has broadened our WCM Horse Camp experience to allow participants in a personal and customized half day camp safely and in horse style. This service is available throughout the year on a limited number of days. We have to schedule around our existing show, lesson, and holiday schedule. Children from 6 years on up may ride. Younger children may attend but not ride. .
The program is 3 hours long and includes our essential WCM educational horse activities such as grooming, tacking up, riding, and untacking. We may also offer carriage rides, based on the group size, weather conditions, and schedule for that particular day. While one group is riding, there are various horse-themed games and arts & crafts to keep everyone busy. The riding portion will be english (unless otherwise specified), and each rider will have an assigned instructor to work with privately with each camper, while in a fun group setting. The rides are in a mini-lesson format where the riders work on skills to steer, post, and maintain control in the saddle. The more advanced a rider is, the more he/she will be allowed to do, and our instructors will assess each student accordingly. Our excellent lesson horses help give these kids learn the proper way to ride, drive, and have fun! These horses are kind, friendly and love attention.
