Valerie K11/16/20224.75When my 8-year-old daughter declared, "No way do I want to go to that sewing camp!," I understood the issue. She would rather stay at home, use two fingers, and play in her made-up "Syms" world on her iPad than use all ten of her fingers and her intellect. She was pulled along with her older sister, who also enjoys sewing, of course. She excitedly showed me the beginner's pillow she had created when I went to pick them up. Then she showed me the turtle hat she planned to make next that was hanging on the wall. She adored it, which is understandable given that she enjoys following the thorough directions on Lego sets and that the step-by-step, kid-friendly instructions in this sewing session are similar.
