In the state of Delaware, known as DE to its pals, resides an incredibly cool creature named Deke! Deke isn't your everyday creature; he's a hockey-loving, puck-slapping, helmet-wearing dragon. He's famous for his shimmering green scales, fiery breath, and his extraordinary ice-skating skills. He's the unofficial mascot of all the hockey-loving kids in DE. Now, these aren't just any kids. These Delaware youngsters are as tough as the mighty Delaware River and as swift as the gusty coastal winds. They swap their school shoes for ice skates as soon as the school bell rings. Swarming to the ice rinks like bees to honey, they strap on their helmets, grip their hockey sticks, and zoom across the ice, with Deke cheering them on from the sidelines. One of the things that make these DE kids unique is their laughter. It's a special kind of laughter that echoes across the rink whenever Deke accidentally slips on the ice or when a puck miraculously dodges the goalie. It's louder than the crowd at a Blue Rocks baseball game and warmer than a summer day in Rehoboth Beach. But don't be mistaken; they're serious about their hockey.
