The School of Swimming has been teaching young swimmers for nearly half a century! During this time, our instructors have been dedicated to helping each student develop their swimming skills. We strive to ensure that each swimmer is able to swim with the utmost competence and confidence. Our goal is for every student to enjoy and respect the water, and our instructors are passionate about bringing out the best in each swimmer. They use positivity, patience, and encouragement to cheer on the students. For almost 50 years, The School of Swimming has been helping children learn to swim. Our mission is to equip them with the skills to swim with confidence and assurance. We also want them to have an appreciation for the water. Our instructors use their enthusiasm and patience to get the best out of their students. They provide support and encouragement to nurture the swimmers and help them reach their full potential. At The School of Swimming, we are proud to have been teaching thousands of young people how to swim over the course of 47 years. We are committed to instilling in our students a deep love and respect for the water. Our instructors do their best to bring out the best in each swimmer, using methods such as enthusiasm, patience, and encouragement. We want our students to leave with a strong ability to swim with confidence and poise.

For the past 40 years, the BeVier family has been helping children across Connecticut make a splash! Since 1974, when Chick and Susan BeVier first founded The School of Swimming, they have been providing swimming instruction and camping adventures for thousands of children. Camp Eagle Feather and Camp Eagle Wing were opened in 1984 and 2006 respectively to add more opportunities for outdoor fun. Today, Heather BeVier continues the BeVier family tradition as the director of The School of Swimming. At The School of Swimming, children ages 3 ½ to adulthood can learn the important skill of swimming. With water all around us in pools, lakes, rivers, beaches, and off boats, being able to swim allows us to make the most of these aquatic environments safely and confidently. Swimming skills acquired at The School of Swimming stay with children for life, giving them endless opportunities to enjoy the water. The BeVier family has been providing swimming instruction and outdoor experiences to children in Connecticut for over four decades. Their dedication to helping children learn and grow in a safe, fun environment has created a legacy of water safety and aquatic fun.
