The Farnam Community has been a pillar of the community since 1909. For generations, the Farnam Community has been dedicated to providing children of all ages with the resources and tools they need to succeed in life. The Farnam Community is made up of two main branches: the Farnam Center in New Haven, CT, and Camp Farnam in Durham, CT.
The Farnam Center, formerly known as Farnam Neighborhood House, offers a comprehensive and nurturing preschool and aftercare program. The center is committed to providing families with a continuum of safe, affordable, and enriching programs, services, and activities. Parents can rest assured their children will have the opportunity to grow and thrive in a healthy and secure environment.
Camp Farnam is the perfect place for children to have fun and make lasting memories. The camp offers educational and recreational activities designed to help children learn and grow through play. With trained staff and a safe environment, parents can take comfort in knowing their children are in a safe and supportive environment to develop essential skills and gain confidence to take on the world.

Farnam Neighborhood House Program
These programs equip New Haven kids with the strength and confidence they need to make good choices and rise to the challenges that lie ahead. Camp Farnam, located on 72 wooded acres, gives New Haven kids ages 5-12 a summer to remember – days filled with sunshine, swimming, sports, hiking, and field events. The facility includes a pavilion for arts & crafts, science, and nature study.
