Camp Katoya in Milford has been a favorite spot for generations of Girl Scouts, offering an array of outdoor activities and plenty of fun. Kung Fu is a martial art that has been around for centuries and is a great way to gain physical and mental strength. There are four main categories in Kung Fu: hand or fist fighting, sword or weapon fighting, pair training, and group training. Each of these categories teaches a combination of attack and defense strategies, advancing and retreating, and how to use acceleration and slowing down techniques. Practicing Kung Fu helps build strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, stamina, reflexes, and an awareness of one’s body. It also helps to develop better self-discipline, focus, and respect for oneself and others. At Wu Dang, we offer instruction in Kung Fu styles and forms that are tailored to the age and physical capabilities of each student.
