About Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater in Middletown, CT

Our mission is to foster the growth of young people through the performing arts and offer opportunities for all, especially underserved and at-risk youth, in order to build a genuinely multiracial, multicultural society. Our theater provides young people with a platform to express themselves and explore their creativity in a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to ensure that all of our programs are accessible and equitable, allowing us to reach and serve those who need it most. We are here to create a space for young people to explore and practice the performing arts, while also fostering empathy in our communities and inspiring positive social change. We are dedicated to providing high-quality theater experiences for young people, as well as promoting the development of a truly diverse and inclusive society. We believe that through the performing arts, young people can gain valuable life skills, practice empathy, and build meaningful connections with others. We are committed to finding innovative ways to bridge the gap between underserved and at-risk youth and the performing arts, allowing all to explore and benefit from the power of the theater.

Programs at Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater in Middletown, CT

BeAKid
Fall 2022 PROGRAMS

Oddbridge is an add-on to our after-school classes which makes it ​easy for K-8 Middletown public school families to participate in Playhouse arts programs. Oddbridge students can catch a bus directly from their school to Oddfellows, where they will be given a snack and have some supervised recreational time before classes start. Parents can pick up their students at the Playhouse between 5:45 - 6 pm. Oddbridge additional fee is $30 per weekday for the full 6-week sessions, September 17 - October 27 and October 31 - December 8.

Creative Movement AGES 6-8

Get moving and grooving through Creative Movement! This class features fun movement and dance routines that are entertaining, engaging, and exciting! Exercises are designed to encourage expression and creativity through movement and to promote team-building and body/spatial awareness.

Whole Body Acting AGES 9-11

Practice your basic acting skills while improving your stage presence. In this class, we will explore dynamic voices, big gestures that convey emotions, and embody characters with our whole selves to create a stage experience the audience will never forget.
