J Swim School

Our J Swim School is a technique-based swimming program taught by certified experienced instructors. Our goal is to provide skill progression in a nurturing environment. Aquatics programming includes swim lessons* for all ages, water group exercise classes, and USA Swimming competitive swim teams.

School of Dance

The Mandell JCC dance program offers an inclusive and comfortable environment for your child, regardless of abilities, to enjoy the art of dance through movement, technique, and music. We have two program tracks within our school for children interested in the recreational program and those interested in a full-year program, culminating with a year-end performance. Choose the track that best fits your child’s needs and interests. Our dance program offers movement, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, and musical theater classes for all levels, ages 2 and older. We even provide Adult dance classes!

Our Karate School helps children of all levels improve coordination, balance, and focus, and build self-confidence while learning self-defense skills.

Youth & Teen Theater

Get ready to raise the curtain and take center stage as the spotlight is on the Mandell JCC's Theater Programs. Each year, these programs feature an age-appropriate musical stage production of a popular show. With the professional direction of Meg Buckner Furtick, Theater Director/Choreographer, and live musical accompaniment, young thespians audition, rehearse and present several performances in front of friends and family in the Mandell JCC's 400-seat Herbert & Evelyn Gilman Theater.

Preschool & Childcare

The Mandell JCC is proud to offer convenient preschool locations in both West Hartford and Glastonbury. These JCC early childhood programs are designed to give children a variety of opportunities to master social, emotional and physical tasks of each developmental stage in a healthy, safe and caring Jewish environment that welcomes children and families of all backgrounds.

Family Room Parenting Center

The Mandell JCC’s Family Room Parenting Center is a special space where parents can spend time with their young children and create new friendships with other families. The parenting center offers parent/child interactive classes, enrichment classes, holiday programing and parent workshops. Reservations are no longer needed - masks are still required when in the Family Room.
