Programs at River Way Ranch Camp in Sanger, CA
BeAKid
Buckaroos: Ages 7–9
Our Buckaroos are typically bunked eight campers and two counselors per cabin. Our program staff help our “Bucks” select a schedule of their choice while ensuring they are introduced to a variety of activities that are designed to fit their interest and abilities. This is a wonderful age to first experience one of the top sleep-away adventure camps in California. Our Buckaroo program gives our younger campers the security of being with their counselors, as well as the opportunity to bond and make lifelong friendships. Buckaroo counselors are carefully selected and trained to work with our youngest campers. Buckaroos get the opportunity to participate in most activities offered, including kneeboarding, horseback riding, zipline, ATVs, theater arts, and more!

Rancheros: Ages 10–12
With four different activity periods each day and our exciting Outcamp trips, Rancheros gain a unique sense of strength and independence. Friends may sign up to do activities together—offering an outstanding opportunity to develop healthy attitudes and participate together in sports, trips, team-building, and special events. Program schedules are flexible.

Seniors: Ages 13–16
As a Senior, campers can specialize in an activity area, such as Dance, Paintball, Gymnastics, Ropes Course, etc., by signing up for the same activity in back-to-back activity periods. In addition, Senior campers have the chance to participate in special “Senior Only” activities; Senior Day may include White Water Rafting on the Kings River, Senior Dinner and Dance, or an alternative Senior Only Outcamp. This co-educational program challenges teenagers and gives them an opportunity to develop social skills with many new friends.

Counselor in Training: Ages 15–17
River Way Ranch Camp is inviting you to participate in our Counselor in Training Program (CIT). River Way’s training programs are well established and have an excellent reputation. For the past several decades our training programs have attracted teachers and administrators from throughout California’s school districts to our location for seminars, conferences, and workshops. Combined with the fun, challenging environment of camp, each program has a specific focus and an emphasis on personal growth development. The programs are designed to enhance the opportunities for leadership, decision-making, and responsibility while creating lifelong friendships and memories.
