About Silver Wing Recreation Center in San Diego, CA
The Silver Wing Recreation Center has been a part of the Otay Mesa community for over 45 years. On August 15, 1972, the Southern Area Committee approved plans for the site, which included a multipurpose field, a tot lot area, a basketball court, and picnic areas. Construction began in January 1974, and the park and building were officially dedicated on May 8, 1976.
The Otay Mesa Community Recreation Group was formed in March 1977 to oversee the park and the surrounding area. This group has been instrumental in maintaining the park and providing recreational activities for the community. On April 18, 1987, the park sign was dedicated, further cementing the park's presence in the Otay Mesa community.
The Silver Wing Recreation Center has been a part of the Otay Mesa community for decades, and it has provided a place for children and adults to enjoy outdoor activities. It is a testament to the community's commitment to providing safe and enjoyable recreational opportunities for its residents.

Arts & Crafts - Youth
Basic crafts techniques are taught using crayons, paints, glue and a variety of recyclable items. Students are encouraged to be creative and take their projects home.

Basketball Clinic - Basketball 101
Participants will learn to improve their basketball footwork, dribbling, passing, and shooting skills through a series of lessons from player extraordinaire, and teacher of the game, our very own, Coach Lynard.

Ceramics - Ceramics 4 Kids
This class aims to teach each child the basic principals of ceramics, while providing children the tips and tools they need to create beautiful artwork they will enjoy for a lifetime!
