Overnight Outdoor Learning

Overnight Outdoor Learning is an outstanding outdoor school program that is taught by our experiential educators. The three-to-five day programs are held at our Grizzly Creek Ranch camp in Portola, CA which is located 50 minutes north of Reno and 2.5 hours northeast of Sacramento. All lessons build critical thinking and collaboration skills and include pre- and post- assessments to ensure the highest level of effectiveness and impact.

Summer Camp

Your camper will experience activities such as archery, kayaking, the challenge course and sharing stories by the campfire. In addition to the traditional summer camp activities, programming is also a special blend of social-emotional learning that is part of Sierra Nevada Journeys’ teaching pedagogy. Camp is a place for all youth to be individuals and we meet them “where they are” in their learning and experiences – a learner-centered environment to accommodate different paces and styles of learning and growing.
