At our camps, kids ages 6-12 can experience a variety of art mediums and create all kinds of projects. During the day, they take a break to enjoy some fun games and snacks. At the end of the week, parents are invited to a special “Art Gallery” to see all the creative projects their kids have been working on. Our Graffiti Camp is different in that it’s designed for kids ages 8-12. Here, campers have the opportunity to express themselves through a unique art form. Here at Diablo Theatre Company, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, and since our founding in 1959, we have been determined to make an impact. Whether through our decades of main stage opera and musical theatre productions, during our many years of Youth Theatre Education and Development programs, or today, in our grantmaking and scholarship activities, our mission has remained unchanged: to promote and support Theatre Arts and Theatre Arts education for all. Why? We believe that theatre gives back. It gives us a window into other perspectives, and brings empathy and understanding. It joins us together in shared experience, and reminds us, as humans, we are never alone. It promotes education and literacy, as we learn and strive to understand what we've seen, and it can serve as a vessel for social discourse, introspection and even change. It is immediate, ever-evolving, and powerful.
