Alex has had a long and successful tennis career. He graduated from Torrey Pines High School in 1980, where he excelled playing both #1 Singles and Doubles. He then went on to attend Grossmont Junior College for a year, where he also played #1 Singles and Doubles. In 1981, he transferred to Arizona State University and held the #2 Singles and #1 Doubles titles. Alex has made a lasting impact on the sport of tennis. He served on the Board for Youth Tennis San Diego for 4 years, and has been a Board Member for the San Diego Division of USPTA for over 30 years. He was awarded the USPTA Professional of the Year award in 2010, and his family received the USTA Family of the Year Award in 2006. The prestigious USTA Pro of the Year award will be presented to Alex in January 2022. He is also certified for Independent Study PE (ISPE) with the San Dieguito Union School District, and is certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.
