In 2002, John Miron, a physics teacher at Atascadero High, and a group of enthusiastic students formed the Greybots. At their first competition, the Silicon Valley Regional, Team 973 was honored with the Rookie All Star Award in recognition of their efforts to promote science and technology in the local community.
Fast-forward to 2006, and the Greybots made their first visit to the World Championships. In 2007, Larry Price, an experienced Senior Engineer at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, took on the role of lead mentor. With his direction and the team's determination, the Greybots have achieved remarkable success.
Thanks to the hard work of John Miron, his students, and Larry Price, the Greybots have become a beacon of innovation in the area. From their Rookie All Star Award to the World Championships, the Greybots have made a lasting impression.
