Bay Language Academy is a new and exciting foreign language program for children and adults in Alameda. We offer after-school classes in French, Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and strive to provide a fun and innovative learning experience. Our center aims to celebrate cultural enrichment in one of the most ethnically diverse regions of the United States. To do this, we host thematic workshops and events to emphasize our rich multicultural community. 

At Bay Language Academy, we understand the importance of diversity and respect for different spiritual beliefs. Our goal is to promote international awareness and peace through education. We also want to help combat the dwindling foreign language teaching in our area and improve language curriculum by integrating culture into instruction.

Young learners join us with their parents, family member or care givers to explore anew language through our multi-sensory creative teaching, music and movements approach. Students are exposed at an early age to different sounds which is crucial to ensure proper pronunciation as they grow. We help toddlers learn languages early through exposure to sounds and tones that they may not otherwise hear while growing up.


Parent/Toddler Classes

Our campers participate in cultural food preparation, including French crêpes and more.

In addition to language classes, students attend art class, get tutoring for their school studies, practice their language, read for twenty minutes and discuss as part of a book club, develop their social skills during their outdoor/indoor activities, participate in cooking demos, and make music themed on culture exposure. Our afterschool students get engaged to explore, express curiosity and ultimately learn and reinforce necessary skills, because of our differentiated approach to instruction.

My daughter loves coming here to study Spanish and will soon learn French, so it's a terrific location for her. Also available is an after-school program. The owner is approachable and gets along well with parents and students. She is happy to sit with you and discuss the program or any upcoming worries you may have.
