A bunch of wild and wacky kids, known as the "Alaskan Adventurers," are on a never-ending quest filled with nature activities. Now, Alaska is no ordinary place, and these are no ordinary kids. They are as fearless as the grizzlies they share their state with, as agile as the jumping salmon that navigate the clear Alaskan rivers, and as wise as the majestic bald eagles soaring overhead. Their leader is a jolly old moose named Moosey McMooseface, who wears a rainbow-colored hat and walks on two legs. Don’t ask me how he manages it, he just does! And when he speaks, it's like the rustling of autumn leaves. He guides the Alaskan Adventurers on hikes through the mystical forests, teaches them to fish in the crystal-clear rivers, and even shows them how to build the coziest igloos you could ever imagine. These Alaska kids know how to have fun! From the moment the sun rises, which during the summer can be as early as 3:00 AM (I know, right? Talk about an early wake-up call!), they're out exploring and learning. They have races across the vast, snowy landscape, create epic snow-angel armies, and share stories around crackling campfires, where marshmallows persistently get a little too toasty. The Alaskan Adventurers, along with Moosey McMooseface, make the frosty, far-off state of Alaska seem like the most magical playground in the world. So, if you ever find yourself in the land of the midnight sun, don't be surprised if you stumble upon a bunch of kids sledding down a hill, led by a talking moose with a rainbow hat. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
Since 1973, the Sitka Fine Arts Camp (SFAC) has been providing Alaskan youth with a unique opportunity to explore the arts. With many remote communities in the state, young people often have limited or no access to quality arts programs. It is SFAC’s mission to provide these youth with the chance to gain exposure and training in the arts. SFAC has grown into a program of national recognition, with over one thousand students attending annually from Alaska and beyond. Young people are now able to interact with professional artists and gain a greater appreciation for the arts. It is clear that SFAC’s mission of providing access to the arts has been successful and is continuing to make a difference in the lives of many.
