Madison Youth Choirs (MYC) was founded in 2003, when two choirs merged to become one. Each year, MYC serves over 1,000 young people, ages 7-18, and over 20,000 audience members with many different choral programs. MYC's goal is to inspire self-confidence, personal responsibility, and a spirit of inquiry in its students, helping them to become "expert noticers." The organization also collaborates with various local organizations to break down barriers to music education. MYC welcomes a diverse group of singers that reflects the multiculturalism of the community.
This class is a great opportunity for students ages 7-10 to explore vocal technique, music theory, and rehearsal skills in a small group environment. After completing introductory choir, students interested in continuing onward with MYC can be placed directly in our beginning performing choirs, Purcell and Choraliers .
