About Bare Knuckle Arts

From her years of teaching in the middle school classrooms of Madison and Janesville, Amy Mietzel has learned the importance of creating art and the value of not taking anything a middle schooler says personally. Now, she is the proud owner of Bare Knuckle Arts – a welcoming, vibrant, independent art center. Here, children and adults alike can take classes to learn, create, dream, imagine, and make meaning. With a friendly atmosphere, this artistic home invites everyone to problem solve, think, engage with life, and make new friends. Amy believes with her whole heart that Bare Knuckle Arts is a place where creativity and self-expression flourish.

Drawing class for Elementary aged children 6-10 years old.
This class is for the child who loves to draw and wants to learn more about media and techniques. Meets every Tuesday beginning April 11th, 18th,25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th 3:30pm-5pm Every session will focus on different subject matter and different media—pencils, color pencils, pastels,

Animal Camp June 19th-June 22nd
Ferocious, Sweet, Magical Animal Camp, is an exploration of animals your child loves. From the home, to the sea, to the ice, to the deserts, to the mountains, we will look at different regions and create animal habitats and animals by painting and sculpting with a variety of materials. Ages 6-10 Years Old

Automaton Camp July 17th-20th
Learn to make simple wood automata, simple motors with a circuit, cranky contraptions and more. This is a camp for the tween/teen who is interested in engineering. They learn about cams, cranks, and automata as well as how to create the simple simple but complicated machines. Ages 10-16 years.
