Camp Abnaki has been giving boys the chance to experience the summer camp life for over a century! Our program is all about fostering positive character traits such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We even have our own motto: “Help the Other Fellow” to remind campers to always lend a hand.
At Camp Abnaki, we’ve been providing boys with a traditional summer camp experience since 1901. Our program is dedicated to instilling important values and qualities such as kindness, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We also emphasize our camp motto “Help the Other Fellow”, encouraging campers to do acts of kindness for one another.
At day camp, boys will have a chance to experience many of the great activities camps has to offer, then return home for dinner! In a typical day, boys experience a mix of small and large group games, swimming, and other activities such as archery, arts + crafts, and more. We help boys try new things and make new friends in a safe, welcoming environment. Every day there are at least 2 periods where day campers choose their activities and one chance for an activity with overnight campers. Every Friday there is a campfire with s’mores! Lunch and an afternoon snack are provided by the camp, and transportation is provided by bus from South Burlington (see the schedule below).

Overnight Camp
For over 121 years, YMCA Camp Abnaki has provided campers with a traditional camp program, with an emphasis on character and safety. Our program helps boys develop new friendships, build self-esteem, take a break from technology, and gain a sense of independence while away from home. Tradition meets innovation at Camp Abnaki, as activities like archery and canoeing take place alongside new favorites like the slingshot and ropes courses. Throughout the day, campers engage in all types of fun activities — while internalizing our YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, and our camp motto “Help the Other Fellow.”
