About Farwell for Girls in Newbury, VT
At Camp Farwell, we believe that girls should be empowered to explore their own ideas, passions and interests. Through our Girls Empowerment Program, we provide an incredible opportunity for girls to take the lead and shine. Our unique program teaches campers the skills they need to become independent, confident, and strong leaders. Girls will learn the importance of self-advocacy, decision-making, communication, and collaboration. Camp Farwell has been providing a unique and empowering summer camp experience for over 130 years. Our campers have the opportunity to take part in activities ranging from traditional camp activities like swimming, sailing and outdoor exploration, to specialized programs such as our popular camp orchestra. With our Girls Empowerment Program, we strive to provide an environment where girls can reach their full potential and develop essential life skills. We love to see our campers take the lead and shine!

BeAKid
Rookie Week
A perfect one week session where campers can experience the Farwell community, become familiar with the facilities, have a personalized schedule of activities and meet our fantastic staff! Girls between the ages of 5 and 11 who have never before attended Camp Farwell are invited to participate in our Rookie Week. Horseback riding is included. Campers must have and bring their own riding helmet, riding boots and long pants if riding. Enrollment is limited.

SHINE Program
The heart of the Farwell experience is our SHINE program, which focuses on empowering girls to feel confident about who they are, while developing their leadership skills. We have always strongly believed in the positive role that summer camps can play in girls’ lives, and the natural next step for us was formalizing our philosophy to create SHINE.

Camp is more than just activities. When in a supportive summer camp environment, children increase social & emotional intelligence, build positive self-esteem, learn about self-concept, and develop healthy relationships with peers. There is one more gift camp gives children & teenagers: play.
