In the magical realm known as Virginia, nestled between the hilly mountains and the wild blue Atlantic, lives a tribe of extraordinary kids. These aren't your everyday, run-of-the-mill kids. They are the Virginia Readers, a group of super-smart, book-loving adventurers. They dive headfirst into the pages of books, ready to explore distant lands, meet mystical creatures, and unravel gripping mysteries. Their leader is a cool, quirky character known as Sir Read-a-Lot. Now, Sir Read-a-Lot isn't your typical knight in shining armor. Instead of a sword, he wields a gigantic, rainbow bookmark. His shield? An unbreakable hardcover book. He rides a gallant steed named Galloping Genre, who leaps over chapters and canters through the colorful illustrations. Sir Read-a-Lot and the Virginia Readers aren't scared of problems; they're more like word-warriors. They face off against the shifty Grammar Goblins, outsmart the cunning Comprehension Chameleons, and chase away the silent, sneaky Spelling Spiders. However, these kids don't just read; they live the stories. They've bravely battled alongside wizards and witches in the land of Fantasy. They've unraveled mysteries alongside daring detectives in the realm of Mystery. They've even journeyed to far-off galaxies in the world of Science Fiction. So, if you ever find yourself in the enchanting state of Virginia, look for the Virginia Readers. You'll recognize them by the twinkle in their eyes, the books in their hands, and the words floating around them like magical confetti. After all, they're the word warriors, the reading champions, the masters of make-believe. They are the Virginia Readers.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
