For over 25 years, Prestwick Tennis Club has been a pillar in the Grand Strand tennis community. After opening its doors in the late 80s, the club originally had five courts, which have since expanded to 13. In 2015, its future was uncertain, but soon after, Jimmy Mendieta took the helm and began restoring the facility's prestigious status. His mission has been to create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages camaraderie and friendship among members. Today, Prestwick Tennis Club is thriving, with over 240 members and 60+ junior athletes. USTA teams are formed and friendships are built each season, as the club continues to expand its impact on the community. Jimmy Mendieta's ambition and leadership have been instrumental in restoring Prestwick Tennis Club to its former glory.
