Hunting Island, or Long Island as it is also known, is a place steeped in history and legend. It is thought to be at least 25,000 years old, originally inhabited by the indigenous Seewee Indians. The Seewees are said to have welcomed the first English settlers to the area by swimming to the ships and carrying them to shore.
