About Anne Springs Close Greenway & Recreation Complex in Fort Mill, SC
Anne Springs Close Greenway was opened to the public in 1995, thanks to the vision of local conservationist Anne Springs Close. Spanning over 2,100 acres, the land is protected in perpetuity via a conservation easement with the Nation Ford Land Trust, ensuring the Steele Creek watershed is never developed beyond low-impact recreation. As an arm of Leroy Springs & Co., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1938, the Greenway is dedicated to providing fundamental access to recreation and education in the region of the historic Springs Cotton Mills. It is part of a family of brands that is committed to providing affordable outdoor recreation, education, and wellness opportunities for all.
We offer morning camps and afternoon camps. For a full-day experience, parents may register Rising K-Rising 1st Grader for corresponding morning an afternoon sessions in eligible weeks. Be sure to pack a lunch for this option!
Children must be at least 3 prior to the first day of camp and able to change clothes and use the restroom without help. Campers will be picked up and dropped off at the Greenway's Lake Haigler entrance.
Get ready for a week full of summer adventures, which includes kayaking, archery, crafts, fort building and more! Our Rising 1st - Rising 3rd Graders will experience a wide-range of age-appropriate activities, designed to help them build confidence and independence.
Campers will make new friends and memories while learning outdoor and teamwork skills. All Anne Springs Close Greenway camps aim to foster a love and appreciation of the great outdoors.
Trekkers in rising 3rd through 6th grades will enjoy kayaking, archery, mountain biking, fishing and more, in addition to age-appropriate lessons in wilderness and outdoor skills!
Adventurers in rising 7th through 9th grades will still have the opportunity to take part in many of the much-loved traditional camp activities, like kayaking, mountain biking, archery and more. Adventurers can also learn outdoors skills, such as pitching a tent, tying knots and orienteering, to help them become well-rounded outdoor enthusiasts.
