The Columbia Stage Society is an organization that encourages and develops musical, vocal and dramatic talent in the city. It also provides entertainment to those who appreciate these art forms but do not wish to be actively involved in them. Young performers have the chance to work with experienced veterans, many of whom are working professionals who volunteer their time. Many of the Society’s current and former performers have gone on to appear in Broadway shows, network television and major feature films.
The Society is a great way for people to gain an appreciation for the performing arts while providing a platform for those looking to refine their talent. It is an excellent means of connecting aspiring actors and singers with those who have been successful in the industry. It is also a great way for those who do not wish to be on stage to simply enjoy the performances.
The Little Mermaid Jr. is under the direction of our faculty. David LaTorre is Town’s Youth Theatre Director; Megan Douthitt, assistant; Katie Gatch and Jane Cato, music directors; and Ashley Epperson and Kendall Scruggs, choreographers. Billy Bishop serves as costumer with set and lighting by Corey Langley.
