Deep in the heart of the tiny but mighty state of Rhode Island, there is a bustling group of kids who stir up more than just a clam chowder! Say hello to the Rhode Island Rascals, a group of culinary curious kids who can sauté, simmer and season like they've graduated from the most prestigious chef schools.

Rhode Island may be the smallest state in the USA, but it has a big heart, filled with sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, and a love for good food! The Rascals find inspiration in the state's vibrant food culture. They adventure from the bustling city of Providence, known for its gourmet scene, to the quaint coastal towns, famous for their fresh seafood, gathering flavors for their kitchen endeavors.

Leading the pack is their fearless leader, Chef Whiskers, a quirky, talking seagull in a chef's hat, who learned his culinary skills from an old sailor. With every flap of his wings, he sprinkles a touch of magic and a lot of laughter into every dish. He guides the Rascals through their culinary journey with a caw and a chuckle, turning kitchens into playgrounds and cooking into a hilarious escapade. 

Whether they're whipping up a batch of Rhode Island's famous johnnycakes or creating a new recipe with Narragansett Creamery cheese, the Rhode Island Rascals know that the secret ingredient is always a heaping spoonful of fun. So, come join the Rhode Island Rascals and Chef Whiskers as they cook up a storm, and discover that in the tiny state of Rhode Island, the flavors and the laughter are always larger than life!

Our curriculum is designed to be well balanced and to place a special emphasis on artistic programs. We want learning to be a fun experience that can help to enhance academic performance. For more than six decades, the MacColl YMCA has been offering families top-notch programs such as childcare, swimming, and camping. The new two-story, 52,000-square-foot building includes a 25-yard lap pool, a family activity pool with a double loop waterslide and spray area, a full-court gymnasium with six half courts for basketball and other sports, and a 5,000-square-foot wellness center. It also features outdoor amenities such as hiking trails, outdoor group exercise pavilion, outdoor basketball courts, and a summertime aquatic campus. With its variety of activities and amenities, the MacColl YMCA is the perfect place for families to enjoy quality time together.

Fit2Cook4Kids offers fun, enriching, and often life-altering week-long day camps for children and teenagers. Campers build confidence and self-esteem as they have an incredible adventure that combines food, fitness, and communication and leadership skills. Professional instructors create empowering, lasting experiences in forty of the most enriching hours campers will spend all summer becoming competent ambassadors of healthful living. 

Food is essential to life. The truth about the food we ingest determines our state of health as individuals and as a nation. It is essential that we know the truth about the ingredients in the food we consume. Food and Truth is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to inform, educate, motivate and organize around food ingredient issues.

To fulfill the organizing promise in our mission statement, we have developed and are refining Fit2cook4kids as a model program and solution to the catastrophic epidemic of childhood obesity and related diseases.

Fit2cook4kids was launched as an after-school program in late March of 2009 at the DiVinci Center in Providence. During the summer of 2010 the first Fit2cook4Kids summer camps were launched at the Independence Square Foundation building on the University of Rhode Island campus in Kingston. Since then Food And Truth has been refining the summer camp model with the intent to develop Fit2cook4Kids as a nonprofit franchise. The goal is to replicate these empowering, life-altering camps by franchising them to qualified individuals and organizations nationwide.

Through its interactive exhibits, lectures, workshops, and special events, the museum seeks to create a space for education, understanding, and celebration of Indigenous history, culture, and identity. It also works to provide meaningful opportunities to interact with, understand, and learn from Indigenous people and cultures, and to foster dialogue and action on modern Indigenous issues.

The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America, is an integral part of a long-established worldwide Scouting movement that boasts more than 15 million members in over 100 countries. It all began in 1907 in England when Lord Robert Baden-Powell, a British military hero, held the first Boy Scout camp and published Scouting for Boys, which led to the formation of the British Boy Scout Association. This movement found its way to America when a London Scout “did a good turn” for Chicago publisher William D. Boyce, leading to the incorporation of the Boy Scouts of America in 1910. Congress officially chartered the organization in 1916. In Rhode Island, the state-chartered Rhode Island Boy Scouts began organizing troops in 1910, with the exception of Newport, Blackstone Valley and Woonsocket, where troops were organized and affiliated with the National Council Boy Scouts of America.
