The Smithfield YMCA strives to promote Youth Development, Healthy Living & Social Responsibility through membership and programs, for everyone in our community, regardless of one's race, age, gender, etc., and one's ability to pay. The YMCA of Smithfield emphasizes a healthy spirit, mind, and body by promoting programs that have a positive impact on our members.

We currently offer health and fitness, aquatics and camp and sports programs for people of all ages. More than just a pool, gym, or wellness center, the Smithfield YMCA promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Smithfield YMCA Dolphins Swim Team trains swimmers from ages 5 - 18 years of age in the area of competitive swimming. The emphasis of the Y’s Swim. The team is teaching the value of competition through teamwork, sportsmanship, and doing one’s best.

Summer Camp
Camp experiences offer the unique opportunity for kids to see how much they can do without us hovering nearby. They build their independence skills because they take more responsibility for themselves and their belongings, make their own decisions, and feel a sense of autonomy.

BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Before School Program is for Smithfield Elementary children in grades K - 5. This program is held at the Y and runs from 6:45 AM until the start of the school day. The Y will bus all children to their respective schools each day via the Durham Bus Company. Breakfast is served until 7:40 AM and rotates between cereal, toast, waffles, fruits, pancakes, etc. Children choose from quiet activities, board games, arts & crafts, outside play & homework help daily! Get to work on time and rest assured that your child will have a healthy breakfast and be prepared for their day!
