And when they weren’t playing, they'd spend time inventing hilarious chess jokes. "Why did the chess piece go to school?" Bobby would ask. "Because it wanted to be a 'knight' in shining armor!" they'd all roar in laughter. Rhode Island was small, but it was mighty, just like the Checkmate Champs.
