Nature Explorers (Ages 3-5)

These 60-minute programs focus on exploring nature and present opportunities for adult/child pairs to make discoveries outdoors together. Programs include free play, a lesson, an activity, a craft, and an encounter with one of our ambassador animals. Please note this program does not include direct interaction with exhibit animals. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Preschool Adventures (Ages 3-5)

Early childhood education programs at Roger Williams Park Zoo offer a fun, age-appropriate way for parents and their children ages 3 to 5 to discover the natural world together. Programs run from September through May, and themes change monthly. A new and exciting experience awaits participants in every class!

Zoo Careers 101 (Ages 13-17)

Lots of people have dreamed of working with animals and spending their days where they can see elephants, sloths, and red pandas living their best lives. The truth is it takes a ton of people from a variety of backgrounds to make a zoo successful. With Zoo Careers 101, aspiring zoo professionals will spend two whole days learning from current zoo professionals in Education, Animal Care, Veterinary Medicine, and Zoo Operations! From the front of the house and behind the scenes, participants will learn about exhibit design, animal care/health, and more. Boxed lunch is also provided each day of the program. Capacity for this popular program is limited to 16 participants aged 13-17.
