Welcome to RI Clarinet School! I'm Katelin, and I'm the owner and operator of this clarinet studio in Providence, RI. I've been playing clarinet since I was in the 5th grade and have earned a Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Music History and Literature from URI in 2004 and a master’s in historical musicology from Tufts University in 2006.
At RI Clarinet School, I offer private clarinet and saxophone lessons for all ages and levels of experience - from beginners to advanced students. My lessons are designed to give my students a well-rounded musical education, combining the specifics of playing the instrument with music theory and history. I teach out of my home on Federal Hill in Providence, RI, and can't wait to help you or your child learn to play the clarinet or saxophone!
I encourage my students to participate in their school music programs, community music groups, and auditioned ensembles such as All-State and Districts festivals. I have taught students as young as 9 years old through adults, and one-on-one instruction allows me to tailor my teaching style to each student. Aside from teaching, I enjoy playing clarinet in the American Band and the Narragansett Bay Symphony Community Orchestra, and playing clarinet, saxophone, and flute in orchestra pits for musicals in various locations.
