About Manton Avenue Project

At MAP, we believe every child should have the opportunity to imagine strong futures. That's why since 2004, we've been providing under-resourced youth with the tools they need to become creative thinkers and community leaders. We've professionally produced over 750 plays written by young people with the help of 500 volunteer artists. Through MAP, kids have the opportunity to express themselves and build confidence. Our students can talk about difficult subjects and speak their minds through their characters' voices, in the safe spaces the page and the stage provide. MAP students, their families, and teachers all report that MAP has helped them become less shy and more engaged at school. Our mission is to empower young people to think more critically, to be more confident, and to become tomorrow's creative and community leaders. We've seen that writing plays can help kids improve their social and emotional health, and open their eyes to the world and the people around them.
