Island Child Care Center

About Island Child Care Center

At The Island, we are committed to helping children reach their full potential through the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards. Our dedicated educators understand the importance of capitalizing on the natural moments of the child's interest to create a meaningful learning experience. Through their "planned free play" environment, they create the perfect opportunity for kids to explore, discover and create at their own pace. Our staff is always on-hand to facilitate these experiences and make sure kids get the most out of the learning experience.

Infant/Yearling Program

6 weeks - 12 months / 12 months - 18 months The Island believes that quality and individualized care is essential for our Infant/Yearling Program. Our staff provides a safe and healthy environment and are warm, loving, and responsive to the needs of children. The overall growth and development of infants and yearlings changes so rapidly that our staff is alert to typical developmental stages. This awareness enables our team to provide appropriate activities and play materials to promote growth in language, social, motor, and active exploration, and overall cognitive development. We encourage self-exploration through crawling, climbing, tumbling, and laughter.
