PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Rhode Island Youth Theatre (RIYT), formerly known as Fantasy Works, is an award-winning, non-profit, youth theatre company now in its 32nd year of operation. The company provides opportunities for children and teens to CREATE, PERFORM, and EXPERIENCE exceptional theatre.

MUSICAL THEATRE SERIES

We produce three to five summer programs in communities throughout RI. Each program culminates in a fully staged musical production open to the general public. High school and college-aged students are hired to work as interns in all areas of theater production under the guidance of professional mentors.

Young PlayRIYTs

Create an original play and present it at a Young PlayRIYTs Festival. Students work with writing mentors to learn the process used by professional playwrights in developing a work– from an initial idea to a draft to staged readings, rewrites, and shopping the production. Create on-stage productions along with new film works!

School Programs

Hire us, as we bring the magic of theatre to your school community one theatrical piece at a time. After-school programs enhance the company’s ability to reach out to student artists during the school year. Our trained staff of Teaching Artists works with elementary and middle school students to put up a full musical with four to six weeks of rehearsal time.
