About The Independent Dance Project in Milwaukie, OR
IDP’s mission is to help young dancers make meaningful and life-long relationships with their peers and teachers. In order to do this, they provide quality classes that are fun and engaging. Not only do these classes help foster socialization and coordination, but they also teach fundamental dance knowledge. The studio is located in the Genesis Project Church in SE Portland, and is a safe and inviting space for young dancers. IDP is dedicated to providing the best dance education possible, and helping young dancers grow in their dancing and their relationships.

Programs at The Independent Dance Project in Milwaukie, OR
BeAKid
Combo Classes ages 3-7
Combo classes offer the experience of multiple genres in one fun class! With combos like ballet and tumbling or hip hop and tumbling students receive an introduction to movement and terminology. Play and spontaneity is encouraged with use of props and age-appropriate music.
BeAKid
Ballet Beginning-Level 4, ages 6-adult
Ballet is the foundation of any dance training. IDP’s ballet program focuses on strength and technique. Beginning classes are appropriate for ages six and above and are an introduction to class etiquette as well as basic movements and terminology. Advancement to upper levels requires teacher approval and demonstrated mastery of skills.

Hip Hop Beginning-Level 4, ages 7–adult
This class consists of structure and discipline along with fun and sass. Hip–hop is an upbeat style of dance that is forever evolving. This high-energy class consists of rap, hip–hop, and pop sounds, focusing on musicality and rhythm.
